Completed projects
Once a project is fully operational, our aim is to partner with a local organization to take it over and ensure it thrives for the long term. Many of our projects continue to flourish in the hands of our dedicated partners. Sustainability is a cornerstone of our mission at Clinic Nepal. We believe that building a community means considering how these projects can be self-sustaining. In the broadest sense, sustainability encompasses the ability to be maintained over time, considering environmental, social, and economic factors to ensure lasting well-being and resource availability for future generations. Here are the projects that have already been returned to the community.
Community Building / Tiger Youth Club
In 2014, Clinic Nepal helped the Tiger Youth Club in Meghauli establish a multi-use community building with space for four shops and an office. The project is now self-sustaining, with rental income covering maintenance costs. Clinic Nepal continues to support the club by funding initiatives like blood donation drives and environmental activities, fostering responsibility, leadership, and community engagement among local youth.
Prabhat Bal Shikchhya Sadan Kindergarten,
Clinic Nepal founded the first kindergarten in the area to enhance teaching methods and childcare practices after being inspired by global early childhood education. Prabhat Bal Shikchhya Sadan Kindergarten was established in 2001 in Sukranagar, Chitwan. In 2019 the kindergarten was officially handed over to Shree Parbhat Secondary School, the community school.
Sajapur School Building
In 2003, Clinic Nepal built two classrooms added on to the school building at Sajapur School. This project was designed to enhance educational facilities and create a better learning environment for students, ensuring improved access to quality education in the community.
Goat Distribution Program
Many of Clinic Nepal’s projects focus on healthcare, but poverty is a major cause of poor health. To address this issue, Clinic Nepal launched a program, giving hope by providing goats to the poorest families and widows in Meghauli to help them earn a stable income. Families could use the goats for their produce and breeding, allowing them to sell young goats and create a sustainable livelihood. This program resulted in many families feeling that someone was really caring about them.
Each year, Clinic Nepal donated around 50 goats to some of the poorest families and widows in Chitwan. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown policies, the focus shifted to healthcare, COVID awareness, and preparedness. As a result, the goat distribution program was temporarily stopped.
Chitrawan Haat Bazaar (Marketplace)
Established by Clinic Nepal in December 2017 and completed in February 2018, Chitrawan Haat Bazaar has become a vibrant marketplace in Western Chitwan. Operating every Saturday from 10 AM to 9 PM, it offers a wide range of goods, from fresh produce and meats to clothing and beauty products. Managed by Bharatpur Metropolitan Ward No. 20, it also serves as a hub for cultural programs, community events, and even emergency shelter. Starting small, it has grown into a vital economic and social center, ensuring opportunities for farmers, artisans, and vendors while enriching local culture and community spirit.
Sasinagar Primary Health Service Center
Clinic Nepal established the Sasinagar Primary Health Service Center, a dedicated healthcare facility focused on providing essential medical services to women and children in 2015. What started as a small basic hut with medical supplies, Clinic Nepal supported the community to clean things up, and provide wages to support a health assistant. The health assistant serves the community six days a week for four years. In 2019 the project was handed over to the local government, ensuring its continued operation and sustainability. The center, located in Bharatpur-18, remains a vital resource for primary healthcare, improving access to medical support for those in need.
